The Mauldin Cultural Center is managed under the Office of Cultural Affairs. Check out our team of lovely individuals who make this all possible!
Keira Kitchings, Cultural Director
Keira is the director for the Mauldin Cultural Center. Her main role is creating programming and events, driving the vision for the center. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Winthrop University, Keira spent her career planning and managing a wide variety of events from gallery receptions and galas to food tastings and festivals. No matter the size of the event, it’s always really rewarding when everything goes off without a hitch.
“Events are like puzzles. I always start my planning process by taking a look at the end goal and breaking it down into smaller components, allowing me to see the nitty gritty details of each event clearly so that we can make the big picture dream a reality.”
When she’s not working, you can find her on the water, pitching a tent, trying new foods and craft beverages, or putting her creative skills to use.
Nichole Martinson, Marketing Assistant
Nichole serves as the marketing guru city-wide (we’re just lucky enough to have her in our office). A Mauldin native, Nichole moved back to city she grew up in after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Clemson University. Passionate about marketing, event planning, and graphic design on a local scale, marketing events for the Mauldin Cultural Center was a natural fit.
In her free time, Nichole loves to travel and spend time outdoors with friends and her pup, Oslo. On the weekends, she runs her own portrait and wedding photography business. Grateful to be part of such a vibrant and growing community, Nichole is excited about all that is in store for her hometown of Mauldin and is thrilled to play a part on our wonderful team.
Janice Holcombe, Event Assistant
Janice serves as the event assistant for the Mauldin Cultural Center. She spends most of her time reaching out to members of the community and recruiting volunteers for our ever-expanding programming. She moved to Mauldin in 1968, after marrying her high school sweetheart! They have two children and four grandchildren, Janice’s “pride and joy.” The Mauldin community is her passion (second to family, of course!), so it was a perfect match when she joined our team!
Very active in her community, Janice serves as a fundraiser and President Elect for Mauldin Rotary Club, she serves on the Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce Board, she writes articles for newspapers, and she plans Mauldin’s annual Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies.
In her spare time, you’ll find her entertaining on her screened back porch, enjoying the company of her family, reading and playing piano.
