The Mauldin Cultural Center offers space to host your next special event or art class!

  • We are currently accepting reservations and inquiries through August 2019 ONLY. If you would like to inquire about renting a space after that month, please check back in with us in August once we have determined our 2019-2020 season.
  • We are currently undergoing renovations to our auditorium and so are not renting it out. Please do not inquire about the auditorium.
  • Our available spaces accommodate 32 to 64 guests.

DOES YOUR EVENT QUALIFY?

  • The Cultural Center is not available for fitness classes.
  • The Cultural Center is not available for sales events.
  • The Cultural Center does not have enough space for long-term, regularly re-occurring meetings and events at this time (whether weekly, monthly or annually).
  • The Cultural Center can provide space for one-off classes, meetings, and special events.
  • The Cultural Center can only host art classes that do not conflict with our existing art education classes.

WHAT’S YOUR OCCASION?

Event & Meeting Rental

The Mauldin Cultural Center is available to rent for rehearsal dinners, reunions, parties, showers, meetings and corporate events. We currently only have two rooms available for event and meeting rentals — Meeting Room I and Meeting Room II.

Artisan Studio Classroom Rental

We currently offer one room for arts education classes — the Artisan Studio. This room is home to the Piedmont Wood Carvers Club’s weekly carve-ins, but can be reserved for art educators who provide short-term private and group lessons.

MEETING ROOM I

Capacity: 64 maximum

Suggested Functions: Rehearsal dinners, reunions, parties, showers, meetings, and corporate events

Amenities Included: Access to the catering kitchen, small platform, podium, and ceiling-mounted projector & screen (cables and computers not provided or set up by venue), Wi-Fi

Setup: Room is pre-set with (8) round tables, (8) chairs at each table, (2) rectangle tables, and (1) trash can (other layouts allowed, but not provided by venue).

Rate: $60 per hour, plus $100 security deposit

MEETING ROOM II

Capacity: 32 maximum

Suggested Functions: Rehearsal dinners, reunions, parties, showers, meetings, and corporate events

Amenities Included: Access to the catering kitchen and Wi-Fi

Setup: Room is pre-set with (4) round tables, (4) chairs at each table, (1) rectangle table, and (1) trash can (other layouts allowed, but not provided by venue).

Rate: $40 per hour, plus $100 security deposit

ARTISAN STUDIO

Capacity: 32 maximum

Suggested Functions: Art classes that do not conflict with our current art education classes.

Amenities Included: Access to the catering kitchen and Wi-Fi

Setup: Room is pre-set with (10) rectangle tables, (32) chairs, and (1) trash can (other layouts allowed, but not provided by venue).

Rate Option 1: $40 per hour, plus $100 security deposit

Rate Option 2: 25% of collected class income (Example: If 10 students pay instructor $10 each, the collected class income is $100. The instructor keeps $75 and pays the Cultural Center $25).

CATERING KITCHEN

*SHARED BY ALL RENTALS*

Amenities Included: Refrigerator, commercial ice machine, range stove/oven (for warming only), microwave, dishwasher, and sink

Rate: Included in all rentals, not available as a standalone rental

Note: All events must be self-catered. Food, beverages and kitchen wares will not be provided by MCC. This kitchen is to be used for warming, cooling, and storage only. No cooking will be allowed in this kitchen. All items brought into the kitchen must be removed from the renting party. Any items left will result in a deduction from the rental security deposit.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

Rental Hours

When making your reservation, please note that your requested rental hours must include the time you need to set up and clean up.

Our facility is available for rent during the following hours:

Monday – Thursday |  8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Friday & Saturday |  8 a.m. – 11 p.m.

Rentals are unavailable on Sundays and all major holidays. All dates are subject to the discretion of the Mauldin Cultural Center.

Alcohol Policy

Alcohol is allowed in the facility, but all requests must be submitted no less than 10 days prior to event date, the event host must agree to comply with City of Mauldin’s Alcohol Policy, and the request must be approved by staff. All stipulations and components of the policy MUST be met and followed without exception. Some events will require the purchase of Liability Insurance and security. Liability Insurance

Some lessees may be required to obtain a Liability Insurance Policy for their event that lists the City of Mauldin as co-insured. If your event carries a “special risk” (e.g. alcohol, inflatables, animals, heating elements, etc.), you may be required to obtain a policy.

The City offers a low-cost event-specific insurance program, Tenant User Liability Insurance Program (TULIP). If you believe your event may require this insurance, please contact the Cultural Center staff for the Venue ID Code, which can be used to obtain a quote from OneBeacon Insurance Group.

YOU’RE READY TO BOOK!

To reserve your date and time, you must submit a complete rental agreement and a security deposit (in the form of cash, check or money order only). All checks made payable to City of Mauldin.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT THIS AGREEMENT, PLEASE READ IT IN ITS ENTIRETY AND THEN CONTACT THE CULTURAL CENTER TEAM TO CHECK ON AVAILABLE DATES.

Before contacting the Cultural Center office, make sure your event qualifies for the rental of our space and that you know the nature of your event, which room you are interested in, what hours you’d like to book, and several dates that work for you. If you need help answering any of those questions, please jump to the top of this page.

Our space books quickly, so it’s best to be flexible!
